The record

Duvivier and Bailey anchor Friedman's alert piano while Terry runs his trumpet through varitone electronics, a curious concession to the soul-jazz moment overtaking Impulse!'s roster by decade's end. The gadgetry never swallows his phrasing, which stays puckish and direct throughout.
