The record

Recorded as the bossa wave crested stateside, this one pairs Shank's alto and flute with Clare Fischer's piano and a young Joe Pass on guitar. The percussion-heavy rhythm section pushes the samba feel harder than his Almeida dates, a brighter companion to that earlier pairing.
