The record
A young, brash-voiced Carter announces herself here, still a few years from her Bethlehem and Atco dates but already bending phrases with the daring that would define her. Bryant's trio grounds her, with Jones' brushwork and Richardson's flute adding a light, swinging counterpoint throughout.
