A tremendous 1959 gathering finds Lincoln stepping further into her own voice, backed by a rotating cast that includes Max Roach, Kenny Dorham, and the Turrentine brothers. Warm, unhurried, and quietly assertive -- a bridge between her early torch-singer dates and the fiery social conscience of the years just ahead.

Pressings
The earliest on file is the 1959 US stereo, Riverside RLP 1153, with a deep groove -- but the mono runs as RLP 12-308 and we list deep groove copies from 1960 and 1962, so mono buyers have a real target too. Japan took SR-7016 in 1963. Original Jazz Classics reissued it as OJC-069 from 1983, still repressed in 2019, and Riverside remastered it as CR 00369 in 2021.
