The record
Ray Barretto's congas nudge this quartet into looser, Latin-leaning territory, with Hank Jones comping crisply and Ron Carter still new to his Riverside stint. The groove runs deeper here than on the ballad-heavy sessions surrounding it, giving the octave work extra lift.

By 1962 the record turns up as RS 9382 and RM 382, both tagged repress, so the catalog prefix is your dating clue. Later there is a 1966 RLP-9382, OJC-233 from 1986 as the honest playing copy, and a 2024 Jazz Wax European reissue.
