The record
Rescued from the vaults years after both horn men's early deaths, these Open Door sides catch Fruscella's lyrical, Chet-adjacent trumpet trading phrases with Brew Moore's loose-limbed Getz-inspired tenor over a nimble Kotick-Mardigan-Triglia rhythm section. A rare glimpse of two gifted, under-documented cult figures of '50s cool jazz caught live and unguarded.
