The record
Milt Jackson slots in alongside the trio's well-oiled rhythm section, his vibes adding a bluesy, unhurried counterweight to Peterson's dazzling touch. A quietly luxurious summit meeting from two Verve mainstays, cut in the early autumn of 1961.

Pressings
The earliest pressing on file here is the 1962 US mono V-8429 on Verve, an MGM pressing with deep groove, a laminated sleeve and a gatefold; a Waddell-plant mono of the same number also shows deep groove. Stereo copies from 1962 run US, Canadian, German and UK, the British ones as SVLP. 9002. Mobile Fidelity's numbered MFSL 1-243 came in 1995, and Verve's own 180 gram gatefold B0037378-01 in 2023.
