The record
Late in his Riverside tenure, Timmons pairs off with Connie Kay's brushed drums and the combined bass work of Ron Carter and Sam Jones for a session heavier on ballads than crowd-pleasing funk. The mood stays patient, almost reflective, against his usual sermonizing attack.
