The record
Four jazz violinists on one date -- Smith, Stéphane Grappelli, Svend Asmussen and Jean-Luc Ponty -- with Kenny Drew, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and Axel Riehl holding the floor underneath. Joachim Ernst Berendt produced and wrote the notes. Seven titles, pressed in Germany for Prestige in 1967. Half the pleasure is telling the four bows apart.
