The record

Kenton catches the bossa nova wave with his signature mellophone-heavy voicings, trading trumpets for that darker, brass-choir sound over Frank Cerrero's Latin percussion. A curious, big-band answer to the early-60s Brazilian craze, filtered through Capitol's Kenton machine rather than Rio.
