The record
Blue Note's mono compilation gathers Sidney Bechet from a spread of dates: the credits carry four trumpeters, five trombonists and four pianists, Bunk Johnson and Meade "Lux" Lewis among them, with Sidney Catlett turning up at the drums. Bechet takes clarinet and soprano. 'High Society,' 'St. Louis Blues' and 'Blues For Tommy Ladnier' are the anchors, and Rudy Van Gelder handled the remastering.
