A late-'50s big band date led by alto man and arranger Med Flory, better known as co-founder of Supersax -- here he steps out with charts built for swing and punch rather than bebop dissection. Josie was an odd home for a jazz orchestra, more R&B and rock roots, which makes this a curious side trip worth a spin.
