The record
Cut just as bossa nova fever hit the States, this Time Records date finds McPartland pairing her elegant trio touch with Ralph Dorsey's congas for a rhythmic detour into Brazilian-tinged soul-jazz. Ben Tucker and Dave Bailey keep the groove loose and swinging, a lighter, dance-floor-leaning side of the pianist's usual refinement.
