The record
A trio date cut at the height of bossa nova's crossover moment, with Donato's piano touch -- light, syncopated, harmonically sly -- doing more talking than any singer could. Milton Banana's brushwork keeps things loose and conversational, a fine early document of Donato's instrumental take on the idiom before he headed north to further blur samba and jazz.
