The record
A honking, R&B-inflected session from tenor man Jesse Powell, whose horn had already powered hits for the likes of Big Maybelle -- here backed by a tight septet leaning hard into swaggering, bar-walking sax tradition. Baritone growl from Norman Thornton and brass punch from Chambers and Williams keep the grooves fat and dance-floor ready, a Jubilee curio for honkers and blues-shouters alike.
