The record
Two guitars, no rhythm section, just a long conversation between veteran swing-schooled pickers who clearly enjoy trading lines. Ellis and Pass had an easy rapport that made this kind of stripped-down duo date -- popular on smaller labels through the '70s -- feel unhurried rather than sparse.
