The record

Tuba and euphonium thicken the frontline on this groove-conscious Atlantic date, Spaulding and Maupin's reeds trading space over dual drummers and congas. A funkier, looser cousin to Hubbard's more modally minded work of the period.

The earliest pressing on file here is a 1968 US Atlantic stereo, SC1501, from the Monarch plant. Every other 1968 row is the same catalog number -- Canadian, promo and further US stereo copies -- so plant markings and sleeve condition are the only things separating them. The one later pressing on file is a 1975 US reissue, again SC1501. No audiophile edition and no mono are listed.
