The record
A hushed meeting of two vocal temperaments -- Jobim's bossa nova songbook reframed by a saloon singer working at half his usual volume, all breath and restraint. Nelson Riddle's arrangements let the samba pulse stay soft-focus, making this one of Sinatra's most intimate, unguarded records.

Everything on file for this title is 1967, and the field is almost entirely first-run. US Reprise appears as mono F 1021 and F-1021, stereo FS-1021, and plain 1021 in both a mono misprint and a stereo repress, with Pitman and Terre Haute plant variants noted separately. The UK 1021 in mono carries our earliest-on-file flag, and a UK stereo copy is listed with a laminated sleeve. Japan had it as SJET-7923. Nothing on file is dated later than 1967, and no audiophile cut appears at all.
