The record
Torch songs and standards played at half-light tempo, the reed section curling around 'Solitude' and 'Mood Indigo' with unusual patience. Woodyard and Woode keep things settled while the horns take their time getting where they're going.

Pressings
Mono CL 1085 and stereo CS 8053 both date to 1958, and deep groove turns up on copies of each; the stereo also appears in Hollywood and Pitman plant pressings. Canadian CL 1085 copies are on file from the same year. Reissues run through 1963 and into Czech Supraphon editions. For a modern copy, Impex remastered it as IMP6010 in 2012 and cut a 45 RPM edition, IMP6060-45, in 2024.
