Live document of the tenor patriarch in a spare, trio-plus-horn setting, cutting loose with none of the padding a studio date might impose. Flanagan's touch keeps things buoyant while Hawkins, still commanding at this stage of his career, digs into standards with that huge, vibrato-rich tone.
