Old Basie hands regroup under Clayton's horn for a Swingville date built on riffs and pocket rather than fireworks, Green and Jones locking the rhythm as they had for decades. Quinichette's Pres-toned tenor and Washington's baritone give the front line a warm, mid-register glow.
