The record
Timmons' gospel-soaked title track set the tone for hard bop's soulful turn, while Golson's charts and Morgan's brash trumpet gave this Messengers lineup its own distinct voice. A high-water mark for the drummer's talent-incubating band, and Blue Note's house sound at its most joyful.

We hold no original-era LP for this title. The 1958 and 1960 entries are the 7-inch single 45-1735, not the album. The earliest albums on file are 1966 Liberty pressings -- mono 4003 and stereo BST 84003, the stereo carrying an RVG stamp -- and those are already reissues. After that it is Blue Note repressings through the seventies and eighties, plus Japanese editions. If you are buying for sound rather than provenance, Analogue Productions AP 84003 (2008, 2019) and Music Matters MMBST-84003 (2020) are both listed.
