The record

This Chicago date shows Perkins working brushes with real economy while the bass digs into full melodic lines beneath the pianist's patient chords. The dynamics-first approach that would soon define his sound is already largely in place.

Pressings

The earliest copy we list is the 1956 US Argo mono, LP 610, with a deep groove; an undated Argo mono under LP-610 shows the same. Philips handled Australia and New Zealand that year as B 94236 L, and Denmark got a Fonogram pressing, LPJ 610. The Cadet copies, 610 and LPS 610, come after the label change and are the ones to leave alone if you want Argo stock.

Showing the first pressing, audiophile reissues and copies carrying a collector marker, out of 16 pressings on file.
